Classmates,
A few months ago I approached you about participating in a survey being conducted by the leadership of the Naval Academy designed to expand their knowledge of the effectiveness of the academic, leadership and athletic programs on the Yard over the last 40 years. So far, 132 from ’78 have participated. If you have not participated and have about 30 minutes to provide feedback from your experiences it would be very helpful in improving programs at our Academy. Here is a short message from our Superintendent, VADM Sean Buck, explaining the survey:
Since taking the helm in July, I can report to you that I am extremely proud of our institution and the midshipmen we develop as future leaders of our Navy, Marine Corps and our nation. But I know we can do even better. Part of what makes any organization better is feedback, and feedback from our alumni on their experiences at USNA, in the fleet and beyond will help make the Naval Academy better. In that regard, I am requesting that you consider participating in a survey designed to expand our knowledge of the effectiveness of our academic, leadership and athletic programs on the Yard over the last 40 years. In particular, we are seeking responses from the transition class of graduates of the Academy’s academic majors program in 1971 through graduates of the Class of 2016. Active-duty alumni can take the survey here, non-active-duty here. I don’t make this request lightly as I understand that for most of us, time is our most precious commodity. But in my first three months on board as your Superintendent, I have received many inquiries on how our graduates can give back to the Academy. Spending 30-45 minutes of your time to complete this survey is one of those ways. Thank you in advance for your willingness to participate.
