Although our class did not lose anyone in combat, three of our classmates were lost in operational accidents. Those three classmates, Alan Hammond (22nd Co.), Dave Trundy (26th Co.) and Robbie Wilson (25th Co.), all appear in Memorial Hall and on the Naval Academy’s Virtual Memorial Hall page. Since we built the Memorial page we have been trying to figure out how we could signify these three operational losses. In the end we settled on the simplest approach and added OPERATIONAL LOSS next to their name and including a link to the their page on the Naval Academy Virtual Memorial Hall.
Also, Ken Waldie and all of the 9-11 losses were added to the Virtual Memorial although they weren’t operational losses. As a result we added 9-11 loss and the link to his page on the Naval Academy Virtual Memorial Hall, too.
