Matt Elias has worked hard with collaboration from your Class Officers to develop a new logo for the class, the Class of 1978 N star Logo attached to this email.
This logo joins our Class Crest at Land’s End as logos available to be embroidered on their apparel. One difference, however, is that unlike our Class Crest for which we own the trademark, this logo incorporates the Naval Academy Athletic Association’s trademarked N Star. As a result, we had to get permission from the Naval Academy Athletic Association to incorporate it in our design. Additionally, because of College Licensing Coalition rules, unlike the Class Crest which can be embroidered on any item in Land’s End catalog, the N Star 1978 logo is only available to be embroidered on the Land’s End Collegiate Collection, a select subset of their overall merchandise that complies with the College Licensing Coalition fair wage/living wage requirement.
The Class now has two storefronts on Land’s End:

The two websites are interconnected and have links to the different sets of available merchandise for each logo. Also, through December 31st, Land’s End has reduced the cost to add a logo to an item to $3.00 from the normal cost of $6.95 to $8.95.
Thanks to Deputy Athletic Director Eric Ruden and the Naval Academy Athletic Association for their willingness to work with us and approve our request to use the N Star logo in our new design.
