Class of 78 Prayer Breakfast

General George C. Marshall once proclaimed: “The soldier’s heart, the soldier’s spirit, the soldier’s soul are everything. Unless the soldier’s spirit sustains him, he cannot be relied upon and he will fail himself, his commander, and his country in the end . . . It is the spirit that wins the victory.”

The same could be said for any of us. With this in mind, we’re putting in a plug for the ’78 Reunion Prayer Breakfast to be held Saturday morning of our Reunion Weekend.  The Breakfast will feed our spirits as classmates Andy Funke (34th Co.; medical doctor commissioned in and retired from U.S. Public Health Service and currently in a rural private practice, who recently lost his wife of 37 years) and VADM Mark Fox (18th Co.; retired Deputy Centcom Commander, distinguished for, among other things, his Iraq War MIG kill and his service to the President, who served 38 years on active duty) recall some of the great things God has done in their lives since we became classmates 44 years ago — even in the midst of the most difficult times like the loss of a wife.

Just a reminder that wives and other guests are warmly invited, the attire is casual, and the ’78 pickup basketball game has been slid to 1015, so there is plenty of time to make both the 0830 breakfast and the basketball game!

We are looking forward to hopefully seeing you at the Reunion, and we hope you will take advantage of the opportunity to feed your spirit and join us for the Prayer Breakfast Saturday morning at the Westin. If you have any questions regarding details of the Breakfast, please feel free to email Jim Fiorelli (j_fiorelli@yahoo.com), or call or text at 804-640-3660.
