Every year, Jim Shulson and Tony Shaddix play in an “average Joe” tournament in Laughlin, NV. Played May 6 – 10, the Tournament is a three-day scramble event where teams change every day (randomly selected). It’s $575 for four nights lodging and the 3 rounds of golf, plus front and back-end buffet dinners. Day 1 is played at Los Lagos Golf Club; day 2 is at Huukan Golf Club; and day 3 is at Mohave Resort. You must have a valid USGA handicap to play. Teams each day are all blind drawn computer generated, so you can’t bring a team or ask to play with a buddy. Tony says they “have a few good golfers and a lot of bad ones playing. Luck of the draw, luck of the day and one hell of a fun week!”
Tony mentioned it to some of you during our reunion and think it would be a great time for classmate “duffers” to get together out West. They’ll be reaching out to those of you who played at our Reunion to see if there is any interest but also would like to let all classmates know. After all- you just might turn the event into a de facto “Class of ’78 Tournament” by virtue of a large number of participants. Just reach out to Jim or Tony here on Facebook (They also have individual profiles.) or drop them an email. They can get you an application. You can get their email via our class website directory or drop Vince Balderrama an email or DM.
