It is a great honor to announce that Cecil Haney (29th CO) has been selected by our Alumni Association as the first Distinguished Graduate from the great Class of 1978. Congratulations, Cecil!
The Distinguished Graduate Award (DGA) was established in 1998 to honor graduates who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to service, personal character and distinguished contributions to our nation. The DGA is given annually to a graduate of the United States Naval Academy nominated by a member of the Association and selected by the DGA Selection Panel, this year chaired by Admiral Harry Harris ’78, USN (Ret.). The recipient will receive a medal and is expected to attend the DGA Ceremony which is usually held in the Fall each year.
