Classmates,
Thanks to all that participated in this year’s All Academy Challenge. The Class of 1978 had 367 alumni gifts for a stellar 42% participation rate, and we had 204 more donors than in 2019 which is a 128% increase! It was a close race, but we came in second place with 367 donors to ‘84’s 387.
Overall, Navy increased participation in the Challenge from less than 4,000 alumni in 2019 to 6,240 alumni in 2020. Unfortunately, Navy tied with the Coast Guard Academy for third place. Here are the resulting alumni participation rates:
US Merchant Marine Academy – 23.5%
US Military Academy – 22.2%
US Coast Guard Academy -11.1%
US Naval Academy – 11.1%
US Air Force Academy -4.61%
Now, this year’s bragging rights for the Company with the most participants goes to… 2ND Company with 21 participants. Bravo Zulu, guys! I want to send a special “Thanks” to John Semcken for starting our friendly competition.
