Remember this superstar human being? Gerald Goodwin, USNA Class of 1978, 31st Company, who played fullback/tailback #43 on the 1974 & 1975 varsity football teams, and as such contributed to beating Army both years. He departed USNA of his own accord after our Youngster year and returned to his home state, Michigan, where he worked for General Motors until his sad and unexpected death at age 52 in January 2006. He was an outstanding football player, but an even better man of character and compassion. There is no doubt who Jerry is cheering for one week from today. Go Navy! Beat Army!
