Red Sox beat St. Louis Cardinals in 6th game of 2013 World Series
‘Twas the 6th game in the series, with all the fans tense;
Would Ortiz homer early, that was everyone’s sense;
No, it was Victorino in form, bouncing one off the green wall;
Bringing in three runs to start, with an eventual Cardinal fall;
But Wacha continued, with incredible throws;
And Boston kept swinging, as everyone knows;
Spectacular defense from Pedroia and Gomes;
Helped bring the championship trophy back to Boston’s home;
And there are special gatherings, somewhere and some places;
With all those Bo Soxes, with their championship faces;
Like Lonborg, Petrocelli, with Yaz and the “Hawk”;
Schilling, Cabrera, and Ortiz all will talk;
Of the great game that’s played, both far and both wide;
From Boston to Baltimore, and to that distant west coast side;
It’s the smack of the ball and the crack of the bat;
That makes us all proud to wear that red B on our hat.
